The Stud blends the traditional features of an old and well established stud perfectly alongside its modern buildings.



The foaling facilities include ten boxes linked by TV monitors to both the stud groom and managers houses. The boxes have rubber walls and floors in order to provide young foals with the smoothest transition into the outside world.

Dave Smith, who has been the Stud Groom for the last 6 years, oversees all of the foaling. He can be contacted directly on 07979 536627.

A night watch person is on full time duty throughout the stud season. The majority of the boxes include heat lamps in case of sick foals. Huw Neal M.R.C.V.S, a senior partner of Greenwood Ellis, is on call seven days a week and can be at the stud in just over five minutes. Nursery paddocks house the new born foals for the first few weeks of life. After this period they are gradually introduced to other mares and foals where they graze in the studs picturesque sheltered paddocks.
